  Terms and Conditions

Check - In Time:

For Domestic flights, check-in usually starts 150 minutes before departure and the check-in Counters will be closed 30 minutes before departure time for all classes of passengers.

For internationals flights, check-in starts 3 hours prior departure, and check-in counter will be closed 45 minutes before departure time for all classes of passenger.

Certain formalities are required to be completed by the passenger at the airport before and after being accepted by the airline for travel. To complete these formalities and the check-in process, passengers are required to arrive at the airport sufficiently before the departure time of the flight.

The time shown on the flight coupons and the e-ticket itinerary is the flight departure time. Passengers are requested to arrive at the airport not later than the time started on this page. Upon arrival at the airport, please report at the JetLite counter permit the completion of the formalities.

Passengers are requested to report 120 minutes prior to the departure time at Srinagar, Jammu & Leh airports for check - in due to extra security measures.

In order to maintain schedules, the boarding gate will be closed 15 minutes before the departure time.

Passengers, who do not report at the boarding gate at the requested boarding time, will not be boarded on the said flight. Passengers are requested to contact the carrier for more information on the policy.

In the event of delays and misconnection of flights not within the reasonable control of JetLite will disclaim towards the same.

Passengers, who have through checked-in their baggage to the final destination, are required to identify their checked baggage at the transit station before boarding their onward flight.

'No Show' Passengers:

Confirmed passengers who do not present themselves for their booked flight are termed as 'No show"

If for some reason u you are unable to undertake travel on a flight for which you have a confirmed booking, please let us know as possible. This would unable us to offer the seat to another passenger who otherwise would be unable to travel. Passengers are requested to contact the carrier for more information on the policy.

Overbooking:

Like most airlines worldwide, overbooking may occur in JetLite flight in order to minimize the effect of 'No show', and to enable to their seats to be used by passengers who otherwise would not be able to travel on their chosen flight. This aspect is closely monitored wherein we do our utmost, in a manner that the number of overbooked seats matches the number of 'No shows' or last-minute cancellations. While JetLite makes every effort to provide seats for which confirmed reservations have been made, no absolute guarantee of seat availability is denoted by the expression reservations, booking, status OK and the timing attached to them.

Cancellation / Refund/ Re-issuance of Ticket:

Passengers are requested to contact nearest airport ticketing counter or visit our website jetlite.com, for further information on the same.

Hand Baggage Regulations:  

Economy class: As per Government’s safety regulations only one piece of hand baggage, not exceeding L+B+H being 55+35+25-115cm per passengers, will be allowed on a Boeing 737. On CRJ-200 flights, only one piece of hand baggage, not exceeding L+B+H being 50+35+20 = 105 cm per passenger allowed.

The weight of the hand baggage should not exceed 7 kg. Strolley bags with the above specified dimensions will be allowed.

Counters are available at all airports to check the dimensions. If it exceeds these specifications, you will be requested to check your bag into the baggage hold. Hand baggage is accepted in the cabin, subject to availability of space in the Overhead Bin. Restricted storage space is also available in the aircraft to stow hand baggage, it will be necessary to remove and load the same in the baggage hold as per Government’s safety regulation.

Passengers traveling on flights originating from Jammu, Srinagar and Leh stations will not be allowed to carry and hand baggage.

Piece Concept:

Passengers traveling to/from USA/USA territories / Canada are eligible for 2 Pieces of luggage with each piece not exceeding 23Kg (Economy Class) Infant will be permitted one piece not exceeding 10Kgs.

Please note that for checked-in baggage, no single piece of check-in baggage must weigh more than23Kg (Economy Class). Excess baggage charge in levied on live animals traveling as Check-In baggage.

Articles which maybe carried free in addition to the free baggage allowance (Subject to Security Regulations)

An overcoat wrap or blanket, an umbrella or walking stick, a lady’s handbag, lady’s pocketbook of lady’s purse, a reasonable amount of reading material for the flight, a small camera and/ or pair of binoculars, infant’s food for consumption in flight and infant’s carrying basket, a fully collapsible invalid’s wheelchair and/or a pair of crutches and/or braces or other prosthetic device for the passenger’s use provide that the passenger is dependent upon them.

Dangerous Articles in Baggage:

For safety reasons, dangerous articles such as those listed below, must not be carried in passengers baggage.

Compressed gases: (deeply refrigerated, inflammable, non flammable and poisonous) such as butane, oxygen, liquid nitrogen, aqualung cylinders and compresses gas cylinders.

Corrosive such as acids, alkalis, mercury and wet cell batteries and apparatus containing mercury.

Explosive ammunition, fireworks and flares. Ammunition including blank cartridges, hand guns, fireworks pistol caps,

Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter refills, lighter fuel, matches, paints thinner, fire-lighters

That needs inverting before ignition, radioactive material, briefcases and attaché cases with installed alarm devices. Oxidizing materials such as bleaching powders and peroxides.

Poisons and infectious substance such as insecticides, weed-killer and live virus materials. Other dangerous articles such as magnetized materials, offensive or irritating materials.

The Government of India prohibits the use of mobile phone on board

Security Regulations:

According to security regulations, passengers are advised:

  1. Not to accept any packets from unknown persons.
  2. Not to leave baggage unobserved at anytime, especially with airport area. Unattended baggage may be removed by Airport/ Security staff as an object of suspicion.
  3. To declare before checking-in, if carrying any arms of explosive substances. Concealment is an offence under the Aircraft and Rules.
  4. To carry only one hand baggage, the sum of the three dimensions (v c. length, breadth and height) of which should not exceed 115cm.
  5. Battery cells/dry cells carried in the hand baggage or in any electrical / electronic item are liable to be removed and the airline would not be in a position to hand over the same at the destination. The same may be carried in registered baggage.

Prohibited Articles:

Also, carriage of dry cell batteries, knives, scissors, sharp instruments, tools, firearms, ammunition and their toy replicas are prohibited in the passenger cabin.

Valuable Articles:

Currency, precious metals, jewellery, negotiable instruments, securities, personal identification documents and other items of value are best carried with the passengers in the cabin.

Restricted Articles:

Medicines and toiletries in limited quantities which are necessary or appropriate for the passenger during the journey such as hairsprays, perfumes and medicines containing alcohol maybe carried. Many of these listed articles can be carried as air cargo, provided they are packed in accordance with cargo regulations.

The following items maybe carried:

Dry ice in quantities not exceeding 2 Kg (5lb) per passenger, used to pack perishables, as carry-on baggage only.

Alcoholic beverages. With approval of the carrier(s), small oxygen cylinders for medical use and small carbon dioxide gas cylinder worn by passenger for the operation of mechanical limbs.

Domestic Travel:

Conditions of Contract for scheduled domestic flights within India:

The carriage is subject to JetLite regulations relating to the conditions of Non International Carriage (passenger and baggage) framed in accordance with the Carriage by Air Act, 1972, and notification regarding application of the Carriage which is non-International. These regulations are known as JetLite Non-International Carriage (passenger and baggage) Regulations, 1992. The liability of the Company for damage sustained in the event of the death or wounding of a passenger or any other bodily injury suffered by a passenger or by his registered baggage during the course or carriage by air will be governed by the provisions of section 4, 5, 6 and the rules contained in the Seconds schedule of Carriage by Air Act, 1972, with certain exception, adaptations, modifications etc., as mentioned in the Govt. of India, Ministry of Civil Aviation Notification and as amended from time to time.

Excerpts from Regulations:

  1. The Company reserve to itself, the right without assigning any reason, to cancel or delay the commencement or continuance of the flight or to alter the stopping place or to deviate from the route of the journey or to change the type of aircraft in use, without thereby incurring any liability in damages or otherwise to the passengers or any other person on any ground, whatsoever. The Company also reserves to itself the right to refuse to carry any person whom it considers unfit to travel or who in the opinion of the Company may constitute risk to the aircraft or to the persons on board.
  2. If, at any stage, it is found that the aircraft with the booked load or passengers, etc. will be overloaded, the company will have the right to decide which passengers or articles shall be off-loaded and such decision shall be binding.
  3. The Company is not liable for any loss or damage occasioned by delay in the carriage by air of passengers or baggage. Receipt without complaint of registered baggage on the termination of the journey shall be prima facie evidence that the baggage has been delivered correctly and in good condition.
  4. The carrier’s liability for loss, delay or damage is limited to INR 450 per kg. , unless a higher value is declared in advance and additional charges are paid. Excess valuation may not be declared on certain types of articles. The carrier assumes no liability for fragile or perishable articles.
  5. The ticket issued by the Company shall be subject to rules of cancellation made by the Company for the time being in force, which maybe seen at any office of the Company on request.
  6. In the event of death of a passenger, or any bodily injury or wound suffered by a passenger, which results in a permanent disablement incapacitating him from engaging in or being occupied with his usual duties or business occupation, the liability of the carrier for each passenger shall be INR 7, 50,000, if the passenger is 12 year or more of age, and INR 3, 75,000 if the passenger is below 12 years of age, on the date of accident.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

Terms and conditions of the carriage applicable to international travel only:

Subject to conditions of contract in this ticket. This ticket is not valid and will not be accepted for carriage unless purchased from the issuing carrier or its authorized travel agent.

Notice of Government and airport imposed taxes fees and charges:

The price of the ticket may include taxes, with fees and charges which are imposed on air transportation by Government authorities. These taxes, fees and charges which may represent a significant portion of the cost of air travel, are either included in the fare, or shown separately in the “TAX/FEE/ CHARGE” box (es) of this ticket. You may also be required to pay taxes, fees and charges not already collected.

Notice:

If the passenger’s journey involves an ultimate destination or stop in a country other than the country of departure, the Warsaw Convention maybe applicable and the Convention governs and in most cases, limits the liability of carriers for death or personal injury and in respect of loss of or damage to baggage. See also notices headed “Advice to international passengers on limitation of Liability” and “Notice of Baggage Liability Limitation”.

Conditions of Contract:

  1. As used in this contract “ticket” means this passenger’s ticket and baggage check or this itinerary / Receipt, if applicable, in the case of an electronic ticket, which these conditions and the notices form part. ‘Carriage’ is equivalent to “transportation”. “Carrier” means all air carriers that carry or undertake to carry the passenger or his baggage hereunder or perform any other service incidental to such air carriage; “electronic ticket” means the itinerary / Receipt issued by or behalf of the carrier, the Electronic Coupons and, if applicable, a boarding document. “Warsaw Convention” means the Convention for the Unifications of Certain rules Relating to International carriage by Air, signed at Warsaw 12 th October 1929, or that Convention as amended at the Hague, 28the September 1955, whichever maybe applicable.
  2. Carriage hereunder is subject to the rules and limitations relating to liability established by the Warsaw Convention, unless such carriage is not “International carriage” as defined by the Convention.
  3. To the extent not in conflict with the foregoing carriage and other services performed by each carrier are subject to: (i) provisions contained in the ticket: (ii) applicable tariffs (iii) carrier’s conditions or carriage and related regulation which are made part hereof (and are available on applications at the offices of carrier), except in transportation between a place in the United States or Canada and any place out side thereof to which tariffs in those countries apply.
  4. Carrier’s name maybe abbreviated in the ticket the full name and its abbreviation being set forth in carrier’s tariffs condition of carriage, regulations or time-table, carrier’s address shall be airport of departure shown opposite the first, abbreviation of carrier’s name in the ticket: the agreed stopping places are those place set forth in this ticket or as shown in carrier’s timetables as scheduled stopping places on the passenger’s route: carriage to be performed hereunder by several successive carriers is regarded as a single operation.
  5. An air carrier issuing a ticket for carriage over the line of another air carrier does so only as its agent.
  6. Any exclusive of limitation of liability of carrier shall apply to and be for the benefit of agents, servants and representatives of carrier and any person whose aircraft is used by a carrier for carriage and its agents, servants and representatives.
  7. Checked baggage will be delivered to bearer of the baggage check. In case of damage to baggage moving in international transportation, complaint must be made in writing to carrier forth with after discovery of damage and, at the least, within 7 says from receipt: in case of delay, complaint must be made within 21 days from date the baggage was delivered.   8. This ticket is good for carriage for one year from the date of issue, except as otherwise provide in this ticket, in carrier’s tariffs, conditions of carriage or related regulation. The fare for carriage hereunder is subject to change prior to commencement of carriage Carrier may refuge transportation, if the applicable fare has not been paid.
  9. Carrier undertakes to use its best efforts to carry the passenger and baggage with reasonable dispatch. Time shown in timetable or elsewhere neither are nor guaranteed and form no part of this contract. Carrier may, without notices, substitute alternate carriers or aircraft, and may alter or omit stopping places shown on the ticket in case of necessity. Schedules are subject to change without notice. Carrier assumes no responsibility for making connection.
  10. Passenger shall comply with Government’s travel requirements, present exit, entry and other required documents and arrive at airport by time fixed by carrier or, if not time is fixed early enough to complete departure procedures.
  11. No agent, servant or representative of carrier has authority to alter, modify or waive any provision of this contract.
  12. Refunds will be made provided that the coupons are surrendered within two years after the expiry date of validity.

CARRIER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUGE CARRIAGE TO ANY PERSON WHO HAS ACQUIRED A TICKET IN VIOLATION OF APPLICABLE LAW OR CARRIER’S TRAFFIC, RULES OR REGULATIONS SUBJECT TO TARIFF REGULATIONS.

Advice to International Passengers on Limitation of Liability:

Passengers on a journey involving an ultimate destination or a stop in a country other than the country of origin are advised that the provision of a treaty known as Warsaw Convention maybe applicable to the entire journey, including any portion entirely with in the country of origin or destination. For such passenger on a journey to, from or with an agreed place in the United State of America, the convention and special contracts of carriage embodied in applicable tariffs provide that the liability of certain parties to such special contracts, for death of or personal injury to passengers is limited in most cases to proven damages not to exceed US$ 75,000 per passenger, and this liability up such limited shall not depend in negligence on the part of the carrier. For such passengers, traveling by a carrier not to party to such special contracts or on a journey not to, from or having an agreed stopping place in the United States of America, liability of the carrier for death or personal injury to passenger is limited in most cases to approximately US$ 10,000 or US$ 20,000.

The name of carrier parties to such special contracts is available at all ticket offices of such carriers and maybe examined on request. Additional protection can usually be obtained by purchasing insurance from a private company. Such insurance is not affected by any limitation of the carrier’s liability under the Warsaw Convention or such special contracts of carriage. For further information, please consult your airline or insurance company representative.

Note:

The limit of liability of U.S. $ 75.000 above is inclusive of legal fees and costs, except that in case of a claim brought in a State where provision is made for separate award of legal fees and costs, the limit shall be sum of U.S. $ 58.000 exclusive of legal and costs.

Notice of Baggage Limitations:

Liability for loss, delay, or damage to baggage is limited unless a higher value is declared in advance and additional charges are paid. For most international travel (including domestic portion of international journeys) the liability limit is approximately US$9.07 per pound (US$ 20.00 per kg) for checked baggage and US$ 400.00 per passenger for unchecked baggage. For travel wholly between US points. Federal rules require any limit on an airline’s baggage liability to be at least US$ 2,500.00 per passenger. Excess valuation, maybe declared on certain types of articles. Some carriers assume no liability for fragile, valuable, or perishable articles. Further information maybe obtained from the carrier.
